Darnall-Attercliffe-City Centre
Work continues on adding a cycle track to Furnival Road, crossing Derek Dooley Way. It looks as though work will start on Effingham Road soon.
Work also continues on Attercliffe Road, adding a cycle track in the northbound direction.
Magna-Tinsley
Workers on site putting the finishing touches on the scheme, hopefully this will be complete before too long. Kerbs have been added to the Sheffield side of Sheffield Road, previously the kerbs were only in place on the Rotherham side.
City Centre
The pedestrianisation of Surrey Street is nearly complete, with a few more metres to go. This temporary surface was meant to be replaced after the World Snooker Championships, but work does not seem to have resumed yet.
The pedestrianisation of Pinstone Street outside the Radisson Blu continues.
The upgrade to the rest of Pinstone Street is in progress. This will become a two-way street for bicycles while remaining a one-way street for motor vehicles.
Work continues on Arundel Gate and Charles Street, the primary focus seems to be adding the roundabout to Arundel Gate to make it easier for motorists to avoid the bus gate.
Castle Street
Work expected to start in summer 2026.
Nether Edge – City Centre
Work is expected to start on the city centre area in August 2026, and be completed by December 2027. The work in the Nether Edge area is expected to start in 2028.
Townhead Street and Leopold Street
No news.
