Cycling in the Pub #2: Automania 2000 – Thinking beyond the car

Monday 30th November, 7pm for 7.15pm start, The Hillsborough Hotel, 54-58 Langsett Road, S6 2UB

‘Automania 2000’ is the name of a short animated film made in 1963 which satirised automobile-obsessed culture. Over 40 years later we’ll be showing the film and asking if Automania has become a reality, and whether in the wake of the ‘dieselgate’ scandal the world is waking up.

Huge thanks to the Hillsborough Hotel for hosting us. Drinks available from the bar throughout the evening. Food will be available until 8pm; please support them as they are opening the kitchen especially for us 🙂

Cycling in the Pub is an informal social event set in a local pub. There’s normally a talk or film screening followed by discussion and socialising.

Though it’s called ‘Cycling in the Pub’, we think cycling is part of the bigger picture of sustainable cities so we don’t just talk about cycling! You don’t need to be a ‘cyclist’ to come along, and cycling TO the pub is very much optional!
