Cycle Sheffield is proud to be supporting Ride for Eric, an event organised by the family of Sheffield cyclist Eric Codling, killed by a reckless driver while out on his Sunday ride in Nov 2013.
Please join in and show your solidarity with Eric’s family, and that the whole of the Sheffield cycling community is with them.
We are organising a marshalled Space for Cycling family ride as part of the day.
We will be riding to remember Eric and to highlight the need for safe space for cycling in Sheffield and beyond.
There are also two longer rides if you want more of a challenge.
All proceeds will go to Cavendish Cancer Care, a charity which is close to the hearts of the Codling family.
Please see http://www.rideforeric.com/ for the rides’ route maps and to register (this really helps the organisers) Please share the Ride for Eric Facebook event with friends and colleagues.
The list of rides is below.
SPACE FOR CYCLING FAMILY RIDE, 6KM
An opportunity to enjoy a safe, marshalled ride at a leisurely pace, so bring the children and grandparents along! Eric was passionate about cycling, and we believe that riding a bike should be open to everyone. We want the ride to be a joyful celebration of Eric’s life, so if you would like to dress up, decorate your bike, or play music then we would welcome that.
