Peak Cycle Links sent us this:-
We have good news. Nearly 3 years ago we obtained planning permission for a cycle trail following the old railway line from Ladmanlow in Buxton, and over Staker Hill. There were several planning conditions which had to be satisfied – and now they have been, thanks largely to the Project Manager appointed by Derbyshire County Council to oversee the whole project.
To confirm planning permission we need to commence work on or before Friday 14th February. The location for ‘commencement of works’ is to be the Old Tramway which runs parallel with Ladmanlow Road in Buxton between the driveway to the Grin Low Country Park car park and caravan site and the junction of Ladmanlow Road and Leek Road. We are looking for volunteers to help take down a 4 metre section of dry stone walling and remove a number of trees and saplings. The County Ranger Service will undertake the tree work and will supervise all demolition work.
This will be done on Wednesday 12th February starting at 10am (tbc).
Please spread the word and turn out if you can, even if only for a few hours. Thanks!
