Mosborough was one of the first areas of Sheffield to get the Streets Ahead treatment. We got out to take a look at the area and one of the comments we made was that the bike lanes put through the pedestrian islands were too narrow. Here’s what the new ones look like:
The lanes are advisory – some vehicles would have to drive in them to get past – but they do provide a decent amount of space for cycling, and hopefully would deter drivers from squeezing past a cyclist.
