Rides

As a campaigning organisation we do not have a programme of organized rides. However we do occasionally venture out on impromptu rides – you need to be on our mailing list, watch for posts on the site or follow us on Twitter to find out about them. If we have anything organised in advance (rare!) it will appear on our events calendar.

This section of the site suggests a few urban “leisure” rides you might like to try (there is no such thing as a leisure cyclist, not in Sheffield anyway!)

Hover over the menu bar and sub-options will appear.

On Thursdays in BST  we sometimes do the Western Circular  – a fixed route ride taking in Fulwood, Lodge Moor, Roper Hill, Ringinglow, Dore, Ecclesall bluebell woods and terminating in the city with the possibility of a pub visit. Main meeting point is the Ranmoor Inn, Fulwood Rd at 6:30 but you can also join at Devonshire Green, University Concourse or Hallamshire Golf Club, Lodge Moor by arrangement.

A friend and I are making plans to cycle your area for @2 weeks in August, 2012. We are in our fifties and have years of racing experience but not currently entering events. However we ride regularly moderate to fast rides of up to 75 miles and also do the monthly 100 miles+.
We are looking for riders/club that we can ride with daily while in the area. Can you offer any information?

    Thank you,
    Derek

      Derek,

I’ve passed your query on to our wider membership. If you are in Sheffield on August the 7th and want a hilly challenging ride you could enter the Phil and Friends ride. 100km and 150km options. I’ve done this on a number of occasions and you get to see some wonderful scenery
