Who Does What

Roles and current activities

  • Chair:  For 2010/11 is Ian Loasby. Duties are to chair meetings, take forward campaign issues to meetings, ensure that agendas and minutes of meetings are recorded and distributed.
  • Membership Secretary – Matthew Collins. Responsible for upkeep of the membership information, welcoming new members, renewals and ensuring membership accounts and  payments are kept up to date.
  • Publicity and Events Leader – Chris Attwell. Responsible for coordinating, press liaison, promotion activities, helping organise social events and cycle rides.
  • Treasurer: – Helen Hess,  responsible for budgeting, managing/monitoring accounts and spend
  • Campaigns / National Liaison –  Simon Geller, liaison with Cyclenation, supporting and helping to coordinate our campaigns
  • Peak District issues – Jon Fyne.
  • Supertram Liaison – Polly Blacker & Tony Cornah
  • Email administration: – new subscriptions, bounces, moderation. Requires prompt action. Simon, Ian, Tim, Polly, Tony and Ed.
  • Keep Events Diary updated: ALL. Re-direct snail and email notifications – Ian
  • Web site maintenance / IT: Ian, Simon and all members.
  • Bike Shop Liason: Nick Hyndman
  • Festivals, & other events: Tim Hess  What’s needed? Ensure festival organizers know who to send forms to etc. Ensure forms are filled in promptly and returned with cheque . Arrange volunteers to man stall (Nick is often willing to help with this) Ensure the stall gets to the event in good time.
  • National Bike Week: Polly Blacker (CycleSheffield) Barry Raynor(CTC) What’s needed? Attend co-ordination meetings with council, trawl for event ideas, ensure they go in newsletter. Arrange volunteers, contact nos. Provide feedback to Bike Week organisers.
